Giuseppe Urbani de Gheltof was born in Venice in 1899. He dedicated his entire life to painting and was director of the Napoleone Ticozzi School of Art in Mestre. Between the 1920s and 1940s he participated in several Venetian Biennials and, throughout his industrious life, he executed many works, working on commission for churches, public and private bodies. In the last period of his activity he dedicated himself to an artistic expression that he called frangibility, the arrival point of a journey that began with abstractionism and dissonances. He passed away in Venice in 1982.
