Patricia Urquiola Biography
Patricia Urquiola, born in 1961 in Oviedo, currently lives and works in Milan. He studied Architecture at the Polytechnic of Madrid and the Polytechnic of Milan, graduating in 1989 under the guidance of Achille Castiglioni. During her career, she collaborated with the well-known architect Vico Magistretti and was responsible for the Design sector at the Lissoni Associati studio. In 2001, he opened his own professional studio, focusing mainly on product design, interiors and architecture. Among his recent architectural projects are the Jewelery Museum in Vicenza and the Spa of the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan. Urquiola has created projects for important Italian and international companies, including Agape, Alessi, Axor-Hansgrohe, Baccarat, Boffi, Budri, De Padova and many others. Some of her products are exhibited in the most prestigious art and design museums, including the MoMa in New York, the Museum des Arts décoratifs in Paris and the Victorian & Albert Museum in London. For her contribution to the field of fine arts, Urquiola was awarded of the Gold Medal of Merit of Fine Arts from the Spanish Government and received the Cross of Isabella the Catholic. Since September 2015, he has held the role of Art Director at the Cassina company.
