Vaccarone Francesco (La Spezia, 1940) Francesco Vaccarone studied painting under the guidance of Caselli and Bellani at the same time as his classical and philosophy studies. After having exhibited several solo shows from 1957 to 1964, he began to participate in Italian group shows, in which he combined his interest in creative figurative art with German expressionism. From 1965 he dedicated himself to the representation of visual poetry in Genoa, a cross between Pop Art and Nouveau Realisme, in which he composed an assemblage of magazines and objects, full of political and poetic messages, thus coming into contact with some artists of the period of Study Group. The Group dedicated itself in that period to the cultural innovation of the city, founding magazines such as "Marcatrè" and "Tre Rosso". In 1970 he moved to Rome, acquiring technical knowledge regarding copperplate engraving and coming into contact with various artists such as Marini, Guttuso, Gentilini, Fieschi. In 1970 he created two important cycles: “Gabbiani” and “Clochard”.
