Angiolo Vannetti, born in Livorno on December 6, 1881 and died in Florence on January 15, 1962, was an Italian sculptor. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1900, and soon began exhibiting his works in national and international exhibitions. During World War I, he served as an officer and resumed his artistic activity after returning from captivity in Hungary. In the 1920s, he worked in Asia and in 1925 he created the monument to President Alfredo Zayas in Havana, Cuba. Throughout his career, he created various works in Libya during the Italian colonial period and was appointed honorary consul of the Republic of Panama in 1947. In 1955, he inaugurated a statue in honor of U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in Panama, which was destroyed in 1987. In Italy, his works are present in numerous collections, museums, and public spaces. Angiolo Vannetti is buried in the cemetery of Settignano.
