Carlo Verdecchia Casoli di Atri (TE) 1905 – Atri 1984 Son of a veterinarian who was also a painter, he trained at the BB.AA Academy. of Naples under the guidance of Vincenzo Volpe and Paolo Vetri. Fundamental to his education was his acquaintance with Giuseppe Casciaro, and having lived in his house, in direct contact with his rich art collection, a true private museum, as well as with the numerous Neapolitan and non-Neapolitan artists who worked there. They met. The influence of his fellow countryman Filippo Palizzi was certainly strong, of whom Casciaro possessed, after the Neapolitan Academy, the largest collection of works. 1927 marked the beginning of his exhibition activity. In 1929 he held his first solo exhibition at the Bardi gallery in Milan, which Carlo Carrà reviewed with interest in the pages of "L'Ambrosiano". He was present at the Neapolitan Unions from the third to the twelfth (1931 - 1942) and in 1940 he was part of the organizing committee. He also participated in the three national Inter-unions and in the IV Art Exhibition of the Union of Abruzzo and Molise in Campobasso. He exhibited several times at the Venetian Biennials (in 1936, in 1938, in 1942 with a solo exhibition and in 1948). He also participated in the II, III and IV Quadrennial in Rome, as well as in the VI and VIII of 1959 - 60 after the war.
