Rino Villa Biography

Rino Villa, born in Mesola in 1904, made his debut in 1923 at the annual collective exhibitions of the Opera Bevilacqua La Masa, distinguishing himself as one of the happiest exhibitors for a long period of time, extending until 1961. From 1928, until the Second World War, he participated in almost all editions of the Venice Biennale, as well as the I Roman Quadrennial of 1931, where he also exhibited in 1947. He also took part in numerous exhibitions at a national and international level, such as the Exhibition of Venetian Artists in Rome and Florence in 1932 , the Exhibition of the Forty Years of the Venice Biennale in 1935, the Exhibition of Contemporary Italian Art in Budapest in 1936, the Exhibition of Italian Art in Warsaw in 1938 and finally the Italian Landscape Exhibition organized in the same year as the Biennale in Riga, Latvia. His art allowed him to obtain a considerable reputation and admiration, so much so that he was able to enjoy the concession of one of the prestigious studios in Palazzo Carminati of the Municipality of Venice. Rino Villa was a member of the "Order of the Suitcase of Venetian Painters" and died in Venice in 1994.
