Eugenio Viti Biography

Eugenio Viti was an Italian artist, born in Naples in 1881 and died in the same city in 1952. Thanks to his training at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples, Viti was able to explore different pictorial styles and develop his artistic skills, becoming then teacher at the same institution starting from 1919.
Viti has had a long and fruitful career in painting, exhibiting his works in several exhibitions in Italy and abroad. In 1950, he received the prestigious Einaudi Prize for painting, which recognized his artistic skill and commitment.
In addition to painting, Viti collaborated in the field of cinema, creating the sets for two films: "The Dance of the Millions" in 1940 and "The Lost Woman" in 1944. In 1944, he founded the Free Association of Neapolitan Artists together with others local artists, demonstrating its commitment to the local arts community.
Eugenio Viti left a well-known artistic legacy in his native country and his figure is still celebrated today by art experts and the Neapolitan artistic community.
