Jacob Woutersz Vosmaer (1584 - 1641) is a Dutch painter who spent much of his life in his hometown of Delft. He trained in the city, joining the Guild before 1613. In 1608 he made his first trip to Italy and returned again in 1629. Returning to his homeland, he was awarded the title of "Captain Major" of the Civic Guard and dedicated himself mainly to landscape painting. Later, his interests shifted towards the Still Life genre, specializing mainly in flower and fruit compositions. He was famous for including very rare flowers in his works, selling them to collectors at very high prices. Paintings such as "A vase with Flowers", signed and dated 1613 (oil on panel), held at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, are excellent examples of his artistry.
