Ettore Ximenes was an Italian sculptor and illustrator who was born in Palermo in 1855 and died in Rome in 1926. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and continued his studies in Naples and Florence, where he was influenced by Renaissance art. Ximenes created many works, including monuments dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi, Giuseppe Zanardelli, and Vittorio Emanuele II. In addition to his sculptural work, he was also known for his illustrations. Ximenes was a member of the Freemasonry. He is buried in Rome, in the Ximenes family chapel at Verano Cemetery.
