Terence Young Biography
Terence Young, born June 20, 1915 in Shanghai, China, was a renowned director, considered the father of the James Bond series. After graduating from Cambridge University, he began working in the film business in 1936 as an assistant director, general assistant and screenwriter. He made his directorial debut in 1946 with the war film "Hell of the Sky Men", followed by the thriller "The Mystery of Mirrors". In the 1960s, two producers on the verge of bankruptcy turned to him, having purchased the rights to James Bond's spy adventures from author Jan Fleming, on whom Hitchcock had also set his sights. From this collaboration was born the first James Bond film, "Agent 007: License to Kill" in 1962, followed by the famous James Bond saga. Terence Young died on September 7, 1994 in Cannes, while filming a documentary.
