Marco Zanini, born in Trento in 1954, graduated in Architecture from the University of Florence in 1976 and then expanded his studies to the United States. In 1977 he began collaborating with Ettore Sottsass in Milan. Zanini co-founded Memphis in 1981 and has designed works for all collections, including ceramic designs, jewelry, furniture and blown glass objects. Together with Sottsass, he was the founder of the Sottsass Associati studio, in which he played the role of Design Manager for numerous projects, such as office furniture for famous brands, residential interiors, showrooms, exhibition installations, street furniture and industrial products for a wide range of customers both in Italy and abroad. His works are exhibited in many museums and private collections. Zanini frequently lectures on industrial design and currently resides and works in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
