Piero Zen Biography
Piero Zen, born in 1879, was a designer, cabinetmaker and inlayer. He stood out for his propensity towards a greater rationalization of forms and a simplification of ornaments. The furniture created by Piero Zen is today preserved in numerous important private and public collections, including the sitting room located at the Tadini Academy, Nineteenth Century Museum of Lovere (Bergamo). This sitting room is made up of a sideboard, four chairs, an armchair, a sofa, a tea table, a stool and a planter. The Zen company has been documented since 1881, with its participation in the Milan Exhibition. In 1902, the company took part in the Turin Exhibition, presenting furniture characterized by an elegant and harmonious style. In 1906, Piero Zen took part in the International Exhibition of Milan, setting up almost twenty rooms embellished with furniture of his own production.
