Alessandro Zezzos was born in Venice on 12 February 1848. After completing his classical studies, he enrolled at the Venice Academy, where he dedicated himself to the creation of Venetian scenes with eighteenth-century settings. In 1868 he began to exhibit at the Società Veneta Promotrice di Belle Arti with the works "Figure of a woman", "Esercizio d'inclinazione" and a "Portrait". In 1880 he was elected academician of honor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and invited the watercolor "Le rondini" to the National Exhibition in Turin, which was also exhibited the following year at the Venetian Promoter. In 1889 he obtained an honorable mention at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. After his wife's death in 1904, he traveled abroad frequently, visiting London, Vienna, Berlin and Paris, where he remained until 1910. He resumed exhibiting in Italy at the 1911 Roman International Exhibition. Zezzos died in Vittorio Veneto in 1914, at the age of sixty-six.
