A blue and white Chinese porcelain huqqa base made for the Islamic market China, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period, 1661 - 1722
This bulbous, silver necked base was made for a water pipe. The body is decorated with the classical "transitional porcelains" style (with different kind of flowers and a floral band at the base of the neck). A similar lot was sold by Sotheby's on April 6th, 2011, lot 363.
