AUCTION 301 - ASIAN ART from two important Italian collections (Traditional)
Lot 46
A large globular vase with an elegant design of a flying three clawed dragon. It has collapsed on itself due to an evident firing problem when parts of the saggar collapsed on the surface causing its deformation and remaining welded on the vitrified surface. Due to the construction technique, the pigments used and the style, the vase faithfully repeats the famous example kept at the Taipei National Museum (Taipei National Palace Museum, Vase with fliying dragon, Ming dynasty, Yongle period – 1403-1424).
Provenance: Private collection Milan, purchased in the 1970s.
Measures: 40.0 x 35.0 cm
Starting price: € 1.000,00
Estimate: € 2.000,00 - 3.000,00
