Bronze cast with dark patina in the shape of a circular censer resting on three feet. The two sides of the item, defined by the robust handles, show two lobed cartouches containing inscriptions in Arabic. Hu Wen Ming six characters brand (made by Hu Wenming of Yunjian) on the base. Other censers signed by the same artist were sold by Christie’s and Sotheby’s (cf. Christie’s London, May 13, 2011, auction 6162, lot 1039). An old label on one of the handles tells that the item was taken from the Beijing Palace.
