A Canton enamel lobed box China, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period 1736 - 1795
Refined decoration in polychrome enamels on a turquoise background. At the center of the cover there is a lotus in a ruyi frame, while painted on the sides of the box there are butterflies (symbol of good luck) inside blue panels. The inside part is enamelled in light turquoise and the base is white. Minor restores of the enamels. The size, shape and decorations of this box remind another similar object located in Palace Museum, Beijing.
