A large and refined pottery fish tank enameled in the colors of the famille rose palette with flowers and goldfish among lake plants on the inner walls. Pair of pho dog head shaped handles.
The type of object, the colors and the subjects of the decoration are typically Chinese; while the shape, the handles - resembling the bronze zoomorphic protomes- and the rendering of the decoration are consistent with the "orientalist" production typical of the 19th century European manufactures, among the most famous the Parisian firm Samson.
