A fine porcelain baluster vase in lively polychromy. The ovoid body resting on the low cylindrical foot presents the entire surface decorated with pomegranate shrubs, peony bushes and butterflies, while the slender neck shows a classic decoration of blossoming scrolls and bats on a lime green ground. The turquoise bottom with a six characters Daoguang underglaze blue seal mark (zuanshu). Similar vases have been sold by Sotheby's (Sotheby's HK, 04 avril 2012, lot 3186), Christie's (Christie's London, 10 May 2011, lot 296) and Bonhams (Bonhams London, 12 May 2011, lot 335).
Provenance: Italian private collection, purchased on the French antique market in the 1950s.
