A Herat high-spouted brass Herat ewer Eastern Iran, Khorasan, 12th - 13th century
Bel versatoio con alto beccuccio, corpo costolato e base circolare. Il beccuccio è decorato con una figura sbalzata di leone, un animale noto all'epoca per le sue qualità apotropaiche. La decorazione dell'oggetto è andata purtroppo quasi interamente perduta, ma è rimasta, appena visibile, la decorazione epigrafica in cufico passante sulla spalla dell'oggetto.
