A Kutahya blue and white dish Ottoman Turkey, Kutahya, first half 18th century
Shallow dish painted in cobalt blue under a clear glaze. The inner centre decorated with a double rosette, from which four pairs of leaves sprout at the cardinal points. Five pointed medallions spaced by floral sprays decorate the flat rim. The outer surface also bears flowers and leaves and the base shows a rectangular mark within double circle.
An almost identical decorated dish is at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Acc. No. 596-1874.
