A large Thanjavur tray made of copper and silver embedded in brass Southern India, 20th century
Big brass tray with embossed silver and copper decoration, probably depicting Shiva striking the demon of ignorance in the central circle, surrounded by repeated representations of deities with attendants, alternated with representations of Ganesh enclosed in lobed vescicae piscis. For a similar item refer to the one in the Government Museum of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
