This important fragment of silk fabric has a purple background. It is decorated with cream-colored intertwined arabesques framed by wavy lines knotted with squared floral medallions. Inside the half palmettes there is the Nasrid motto, "Wa la ghalib illa Allah", which means, "There's no victory without Allah". Most of known Nasrid fabrics shows endless geometric decorations along with this motto. This fragment, instead, represents a synthesis between this tradition and the coeval Mudejar style, which combines Eastern and Western tracts with the typical arabesques.
