Pair of shell jewels. The spiral-shaped shell of the marine mollusk, cut in half, forms the basis for the creation of two elegant earrings once embellished with bright colors and precious metal encrustations. Many jewels of this type have been found in the archaeological site of Ban Chiang, all made with the solid shell of a turbinella, an elegant marine gastropod of the Indian Ocean.
