A pair of wiooden doors India, early 20th century
Pair of panels depicting guardians (dvarapala) with auspicious symbolism and apotropaic function. Both characters are depicted under a polylobate torana, richly dressed and bejewelled, the two main hands reproduce mudras, the two secondary ones hold a lotus flower and a shell as attributes. Both show a guarded expression and wear a long necklace of skulls.
