A pair of yellow marble Louis XVI style vases with lids and ram heads.
The style of this pair of vases derives directly from an 18th century model mentioned in the collection of Duke Louis Marie Augustin d'Aumont de Rochebaron (1709-1782) by Philippe-Francois Julliot and Alexandre Joseph Paillet. A vase comparable to this pair, in yellow Siena marble, is kept at the Musée du Louvre in Paris, inv. No. 5183.
