Round shape, the center and the edge are finely adorned with flowers and shoots embroidered with metallic thread with the technique known as "zardosi", consisting in the embroidery of gold and silver threads peculiar to Central Asia and India and employed mainly for the creation of royal garments. The inscription on the outer edge of the central medallion reads: "From Udayavira Singha Raghubansi to HG (Her grace) the Duches (sic) of Devonshire". The Raghubansi were a famous Rajput clan and Udayvira Singh was probably their prince. For a similar item, without the inscriptions, please refer to the one part of the Kedleston Hall collection at the National Trust Collections (Inventory Number 107456).
