A sandostone head depicting Lord Vishnu Central India, probabilmente 12th century
Stone head depicting the face of Vishnu with a tall, elaborate crown. Although its surface is very worn, one can still see faint traces of the pointed eyebrow arch, typical of the period, as well as the large earrings.
Provenance: private collection Milan, the sculpture is mentioned in an old appraisal signed by Dr. Oscar Luzzatto Bilitz; dated 1 February 1917,
