A silver embossed Virabhadra plaque Southern India, 19th century
Placca devozionale in argento sbalzato raffigurante Virabhadra, manifestazione irata del dio Shiva. La figura centrale é ritratta in postura stante con quattro arti ciascuno dei quali brandisce nelle rispettive mani, armi: due frecce, uno scudo e una spada. Ad affiancarlo sono presenti due figure, a destra il suocero dalla testa di ariete Daksa e a sinistra la consorte Sati.
