Di forma circolare, il coperchio mostra un delicato ritratto maschile circondato da motivi vegetali stilizzati lavorati a traforo; l'interno reca un ritratto di donna, anch'esso di forte ascendenza safavide nella resa miniaturistica, in un contesto caratterizzato da un piccolo edificio in prospettiva sulla sinistra. Le pareti esterne e la fascia marginale del coperchio sono dipinte con arabeschi intrecciati dorati.
