A small miniature painting depicting the tantrik Goddess Dhoomavati India, Rajasthan,19th century
A quite rare subject paiting depicting one of the Mahavidyas (Great wisdom), Mahadevi's attendants, that texts say to be even more powerful than the Trimurti thanks to their shakti. There are ten Mahadevia and they have not power by their own but only in group, hence this miniature should have been part of a serie. There is a brief devanagari inscription in the upper right corner.
