A small wucai cachepot China, Qing dynasty, 19th century (?)
A truncated cone-shaped polychrome white porcelain container with “fishpond” decoration made in the five-color wucai palette. The shape and decoration of this vase imitates the glorious porcelain of the late Ming era with five-color polychrome decoration, inspired by the marsh world, which in turn echoed the ancient white-blue patterns of the Yuan era. On the upper edge is the six-character in-line mark of Jiajing (1522-1566).
