This pair of commodes represents a variant on the 'double move' model specific to the Venetian and Venetian context around the mid/second half of the 18th century, with a light lacquer background enriched with polychrome floral and phytomorphic decorations. The type of decoration, even much denser and richer, is widely present in models with a more rounded shape, while this specific form of commode is usually found in the traditional walnut veneer or with 'a lacca povera' decoration. The top painted to realistically imitate green marble is characteristic of these Venetian kind of furniture.
