Ancient, rare and complete Magar shamanic costume. Western Nepal, 19th cent.
Of museum quality, this outfit consists of a central armour enriched with hand-forged wrought iron bells and animal parts, a coeval drum, a feathered headdress and a wooden stool where the shaman would enter a trance with the spirits.
Costumes like this were only used by experienced shamans.
