An original invention by Giambologna, the subject of the "Bird Catcher" intent on hunting birds at night armed with a lantern and a stick was executed in several variations both by the artist from Douai and by his followers. This specific model has a close comparison, both in terms of general setting and in terms of casting quality, with a bronze in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (inv. A.119-1956), with respect to which, however, ours presents an opposite arrangement of the stick and of the lantern.
Starting price: € 3.000,00
