Indicated by the generic term Pikuran by the Kirdi women of northern Cameroon and used from puberty until adulthood, this coverup was made with geometric patterns depending on the aesthetic taste of the woman herself. Since Cameroon became independent, the government has enacted laws requiring women to wear full-length clothing, but in various decentralized areas the use of sex-only continues to prevail.
