Lot 169
A theory of poplar plywood bas-reliefs enclosed in fir and glass cases, like Neapolitan Aedicules, poetic freedom aside. This is the story of the young Baron Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò, also known as Italo Calvino's The Baron in the Rampant. Episodes from his life, from his saga, transformed into a small animated theatre, a self-propelled bas-relief with inserts of toothpicks, glue and ropes.
