Female head. India, Gupta style.
Interesting head typical of the great Gupta dynasty. Made of red terracotta, the sculpture perfectly illustrates the style of this period. The face is full, the eyebrows strongly arched, the eyes very wide and prominent with rimmed eyelids. The mouth is fleshy and well defined with the corners of the lips hollowed out, sketching a smile.
