Lot 530
Provenance: Framart Studio, Naples (Nicola Incisetto). Exhibition: curated by Ada Lombardi,"Carmina Urbana," Musei di Spoleto, Spoleto IT, 1991. For coparison see the work at Museo d’arte contemporanea Donnaregina, Naples (https://www.madrenapoli.it/collezione/dennis-oppenheim/). "The artwork is part of a late cycle of Earthworks, works on which Oppenheim has been working since 1970 and whose matrix dates back to his relationship with Land Art and then with Body Art By using his own fingerprint, but often also that of his son, and enlarging them, they are superimposed on a photographic landscape. The photographic sequence, the enlarged imprint, the accompanying text, make up the six elements of a poetic modality that intends to attribute to the artist the privileged role of "artifex", the craftsman who leaves a mark on the territory, which he entrusts to the art the task of affecting reality." The work (six pieces) is severely damaged and for this reason it cannot be archived at the Dennis Oppenheim Estate, to whom we are grateful for the information shared. Single piece sizes: 290x47 cm; 200x92 cm; 49x49 cm; 91x148 cm; 82x49 cm; 125x48.5 cm.
