Low metal coffee table. India, 19th cent.
Probably a rectangular Bajot resting on four stylised bird-shaped legs, the top is finely engraved with a large central flower motif. This piece of furniture is used on many occasions including ritual ceremonies, Puja (worship). It is considered a sacred place and represents a space dedicated to spirituality.
