Auction 389 | AFRICA, OCEANIA & AMERICA - GIOIELLI DAL MONDO Online
Lot 8
Beautiful and antique Tuareg ring in worked and engraved silver and triangular-shaped carnelian. Among the peoples of North Africa, carnelian is considered a stone with prophylactic virtues and is therefore a precious commodity in a particularly hostile environment such as the Sahara Desert.
The stone that adorns this ring presents a rare particularity. It was decorated with an engraving in the shape of a crescent moon and three stars, between 1922 and 1952 the symbol and flag of the Kingdom of Egypt.
Beautiful patina and evidently worn by time and man.
Measures: 4.8 x 3.6 x 0.4 cm
Starting price: € 120,00
