Wooden mask in dark patina with elegant features. This mask belongs to the Baule tradition of the so-called portrait masks used during the dances of the Mblo celebrations. An idealized female face is here represented with various symmetrical scarifications and the mouth open in a circle.
Provenance: Italian private collection, acquired in the early '70s from a historical French collection formed around the 40s of the last century.
