Artwork attributed to Piero Ermanno Iaia, one of the great painters of Italian cinema. The author of the illustrations for cult films such as ‘The Great War’ by Mario Monicelli (1959) or ‘The Conformist’ by Bernardo Bertolucci (1970), which were also ‘painted’ by Piero Ermanno Iaia, a cinema painter who narrated one of the greatest seasons of Italian cinema (but not only: his is also the Italian poster for ‘Psycho’ by Alfred Hitchcock).
The work, as you will notice, is not signed but has the same provenance as the others offered at the auction.
