Turtle comb from the Sunda Islands, Indonesia.
Tortoiseshell comb called HAI KARA JANGGA, worn by young women waiting for a husband and by women of high rank as a symbol of prestige. The upper part has a carved decoration of animals with the ritual tree in the centre.
