Luigi Coppola, the so-called historical School of Salerno, one of the true great forges of Italian serial comics, made his debut as a comic book artist in 1984 by producing a short story published in a fanzine, Trumoon; he then collaborated with Dino Leonetti's studio for which he produced some comic stories. From the end of the 1980s he began to collaborate with various comic book publishers such as ACME and Ediperiodici, doing stories and covers for the horror magazines Splatter, Mostri and Bloob. At the beginning of the 1990s he began to collaborate permanently with Sergio Bonelli Editore for which he did stories for the Martin Mystère series.
