AUCTION 322 - ETHNOGRAPHIC ART AND NATURALIA (saleroom auction)
Lot 121
Hard stone sculpture with showy veins depicting an ancestral spirit Zemi (or Cemi) portrayed in a fetal position with her legs gathered and hands on her chest. This artifact is provided with a label relating to the collection of objects of Count Musari which partly merged into the collection of Pietro Felter.
This label attributes its origin to the Chinese Neolithic period, an attribution in our opinion incorrect and we are therefore inclined to believe in an exchange of labels.
Provenance: Pietro Felter Collection
Measures: 19.0 x 11.0 cm
Starting price: € 300,00
Estimate: € 600,00 - 1.000,00
