Alessandro Becchi was born in 1946. After completing his studies at ISIA in Florence, he began his career as a designer. In 1972, he was invited to the exhibition "Italy: the new domestic landscape" at MoMA in New York, where he presented his work Anfibio. This event marked the beginning of an intense collaboration with Giovannetti, for which he designed a series of multifunctional sofas, such as Only You, Brando, Diletto and the famous Le Bugie series of armchairs. Becchi, a designer of considerable ability, brought innovation, freshness and passion for design to the company. He established not only an excellent professional relationship with Benito Giovannetti, but above all a deep emotional bond. It was probably precisely this intense human relationship that gave that "something extra" to the recognized highly successful products. The collaboration was interrupted in 1987 with the death of Becchi.
