The artisanal ceramic factory "Barraud, Messeri & C." (also known as BMC) was founded in 1928 by Giorgio Barraud, Nello Messeri and Renato Trallori. In the first years of activity the factory produced alabaster works and from the beginning of the 1930s, having taken over the "Carraresi" artistic ceramics laboratory, owned by Bianca Carraresi and her son Virgilio, with headquarters in via Piave 29 in Sesto Fiorentino, it started an interesting production of ceramics among the most modern made in that period in the Florentine area, often inspired by the works of Guido Andlovitz and with cubist and rationalist influences. Bmc Ceramiche Biography

The artisanal ceramic factory "Barraud, Messeri & C." (also known as BMC) was founded in 1928 by Giorgio Barraud, Nello Messeri and Renato Trallori. In the first years of activity the factory produced alabaster works and from the beginning of the 1930s, having taken over the "Carraresi" artistic ceramics laboratory, owned by Bianca Carraresi and her son Virgilio, with headquarters in via Piave 29 in Sesto Fiorentino, it started an interesting production of ceramics among the most modern made in that period in the Florentine area, often inspired by the works of Guido Andlovitz and with cubist and rationalist influences. During the first half of the 1930s, the company exhibited its production at various editions of the Mostra dell'Arigianato Fiorentino, obtaining widespread recognition. After the death of Renato Trallori in 1936, the factory went into liquidation and in 1937 the premises returned to the ownership of the Carraresi family and Barraud and Messeri took over the "Arte della Ceramica Italiana" company from the owners Wais Guarnieri and Otello Conti. becomes operational under the name "Arte Ceramica Italiana" by Barraud, Guarnieri, Messeri & C.
