Thierry Bouët Biography

Thierry Bouët (born 1959 in Paris) began his career as a military photographer.
In 1981 he became a fashion photographer and then artistic director of the Harcourt studio. In 1983 he decided to become independent and collaborated with various newspapers such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle USA, Marie-Claire, L'Egoista, Vanity Fair and Libération. Specializing in portraiture and reportage, he is ironically inspired by men, their failures, their successes and their environments.
Thierry Bouët is an unclassifiable photographer and his work, his life, his travels and his emotions have been recorded for 25 years in the form of handmade postcards. These unique works are sent by mail to his best friend, who however never responds to him. In 2014 Thierry Bouët obtained the authorization of Kensington Palace and began a new correspondence with Prince George of Cambridge. Writing to the future king of England without betraying his sense of irony, he breathes new life into this never-ending work.
In 2011 Thierry Bouët was elevated to the rank of knight in the Order of Arts and Letters by the Minister of Culture, Frédéric Mitterrand.
