Franco Brescianini Biography
Franco Brescianini was born in Rovato on 19 September 1944. In a simple but expressive way, he describes his art as a personal research based on the originality of the line and expression, but always remaining faithful to the modern tradition. His artistic inspiration comes from Francis Bacon and Egon Schicle, trying to rework the style of German Expressionism with a personal touch. In his works, it is possible to find faces with essentialized lines and partly robotic figures, but always present with a human inspiration characteristic of the author. In his first paintings, the work is enriched by the gentle presence of flowers or feminine tinsel that lighten the atmosphere of desolate aridity, recalling the shadows of a society in which moral degradation is rampant.
Brescianini's works can be found in Italian and foreign public and private collections. Since 1975, it has been permanently present in the collections of the Civic Museum of Pizzighettone, the Usellini Arona museum, the Pinacoteca d'Arte Moderna di Santià and the Strasbourg museum. In 1989, he won an important first prize on the automotive theme, the FIAT-IVECO-SAVA-LEASING-PIRELLI prize, and the President of the Republic prize at the CRAI at Malpensa.
Brescianini has held numerous solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including London, Bonn, Cologne, New Brandenburg, Brussels, Paris and Nimes. Recently, his works have been found in Toronto, Geneva, Paris, Tokyo, Boston and New York.
